Optima Gold .008 - .034 Electric Guitar Strings

This custom gauge has been made available due to a large demand within the Brian May fan community. This set is a very close representation of what Brian used from the early Queen days through to around 1990. In the 60s and early 70s when the manufacture of guitar strings was still in early development, the only commercially available string sets tended to be heavy and as a result, difficult to bend. Brian like many other players at the time used Banjo strings as a substitute on his guitar because they were substantially lighter.

Using information given in old magazine interviews, this set of Optima Gold Electric Guitar strings is a fusion of Brian's preferred gauge throughout Queen's active years and the feel, longevity and sound that is unique to Optima strings.
